Oak Framed Extensions

Oak famed conservatory projects and timber framed extensions can vary in size and appearance, encompassing anything from oak framed conservatories to garden rooms, or timber orangeries, depending on your needs. Carpenter Oak specialise in building a quality oak framed extension, as well as other timbers such as Douglas fir and glulam.

We work to find the best solution for your individual needs, with several project types that fall under the category of extension.

Oak Framed Conservatory

Conservatories have a large amount of glazing to the walls and roof. A structure that maximises your light while giving a beautiful extra room linking the house to the garden.

We produce contemporary designs such as Greywings in glu-laminated timber to a more traditional oak frame with other timber options available.

Garden room extension

Garden room extensions are additional spaces which become an addition to the existing house, whether attached or detached. They are usually heated and insulated with large openings between the new and old areas – for example, we’ve helped create a garden extension that doubles up as a music room and a kitchen link extension linking one part of a home to another. These spaces tend to have less glass, particularly in an oak vaulted roof, giving way for a super insulated roof structure.

Orangery style extension

An orangery style oak framed extension can offer an alternative style if you have low first floor windows. An oak orangery combines glazed oak lanterns or roof lights with an insulated flat roof.

Garage

From tractor sheds and boat storage to a simple structure for your car, each garage is designed to suit your needs. Garages can also offer extra living or storage space above. The garage can be a separate structure from the house or an extension of an existing home.

Boat House

Carpenter Oak collaborate on many riverside properties. A boathouse is often the obvious addition to these properties. Green oak is an excellent material for such a building, with renowned durability and resistance to rot. Our knowledge, expertise and love of a challenge inform our solution for these usually difficult to access sites.

Porch

A Carpenter Oak porch can add a unique look to your building. Porches are often small enough not to require planning permission but with the added benefit of adding value to you home. An individual design will improve and offer additional comfort.
