Handmade in Scotland, we’ve been involved in over 350 projects, the majority residential: small works, a wide array of extensions, and award-winning timber-framed homes.
Set up in 1999, the yard at Kirriemuir has a small team but we have designed and made some of our biggest domestic and commercial projects here.
Our work has taken us to all corners of the mainland, and many of the islands – our central base is well placed to service all of Scotland and Northern England.
Long-standing relationships with Scotland’s leading architectural and engineering practices have led to our involvement in some of the most prestigious Scottish timber-framed buildings of the past 20 years, from Stirling Castle Great Hall roof to the Rosslyn Chapel Visitor Centre and Loch Lomond National Park HQ.
While our team of craftsmen practice skills rooted in tradition, our understanding of designing and making with green timber has opened up opportunities to harness its potential in contemporary timber engineering and construction.
We’ve built bridges, solar canopies, and outdoor theatres; castle roofs, great halls and medieval war machines; schools, visitor centres and museums; grand designs, simple designs and everything in-between.
We’re Carpenter Oak Scotland: a team of can-do designers and makers.
