Isle of Arran house

When planning the house, clients Andy and Nikki found that their Pinterest boards were full of New York loft apartments and Carpenter Oak projects, so they were delighted to find that engaging our services fell within their budget and that they could actually have the house of our dreams.

‘We knew we’d made the right choice once things were underway. A couple of the many things which particularly impressed us were the guys’ ‘can do’ attitude to erecting the frame, on a difficult sloping site and with just a digger as a crane and some tower scaffold – everything just fitted together exactly as it was supposed to.’ Andy Surridge.

Along with his friend Derek Miller, Andy took over the build after the frame was erected, getting it ready for second fix stage.

Andy and Nikki were in for Christmas 2017, comfortably seating 24 for dinner.

Key to the success of the project was integrating the oak frame of the living wing into the timber frame construction of the remainder of the house; our frame designer worked in conjunction with the architect and timber kit supplier to iron out all details and interfacing whilst the project was on the drawing board, ensuring a smooth and efficient build on site. The finished project is testament to this attention to detail during the design process.
