The striking building complements its amazing loch-side location. This 2 storey oak house combines traditional elements of oak framing with contemporary additions such as stainless steel bracing and a glass floor.
The design of the property echoes the expansiveness of its surroundings, with each room melting into the next. The clever positioning of the house, built partly into the ground, enables the space to feel open and light-filled but also intimate and private.

Tigh Na Mara was constructed using an ‘Evolution Frame’ – a series of affordable timber framed houses that can be easily adapted. Elements of the build structure can be expertly unclipped and clipped into future extensions and partitions, providing flexibility and usability for years to come, whilst maintaining the unique character of the space.
