Carpenter Oak Founder, Director and timber framing pioneer Charley Brentnall<\/a> will be giving a talk about the repairs to Vancouver Island\u2019s Kinsol Trestle, one of the largest and highest railway trestle bridges in the world.<\/p>\n

In December 2006 the local government had found the funds to demolish it, at a cost of $1.5M.\u00a0 Local firm McDonald & Lawrence Timber Frame stepped in to conserve it at a cost of $1.25M, triggering a campaign that led to its repair and rejuvination.<\/p>\n

The International Council On Monuments and Sites UK\u2019s (ICOMOS) Wood Committee has invited\u00a0Charley Brentnall over\u00a0to\u00a0talk about the repairs to the Kinsol Trestle, as he collaborated on a survey and strategy to repair the Howe truss spanning the ravine.<\/p>\n
