Interview with George Rivas

What is the most embarrassing job you have ever had?  

Yet to have one but I have the rest of my life ahead of me to make mistakes.

When not in the yard, what do you enjoy doing?

Just being around good friends and family is pretty unbeatable.  But hobby-wise, rugby has been my favourite sport for some time but playing guitar and making music is my true outlet.

If stranded on a desert island, which three Carpenter Oak people would you take?

The first person would have to be Muna because to be completely honest I would be freaking out hard and he’s so calm maybe I wouldn’t do something stupid in a frantic state!  He could also teach me some mixed martial arts, which I’ve always wanted to learn.  Laura C would have to be there, she looks after us all so much in the yard I can’t see any reason she couldn’t do the same on a desert island.  Jono is pretty nifty with the air-rifle.  He could come.

What music do you listen to?

I listen to a wide variety of different types of sounds. My absolute favorite is Country music, but also listen to House, Jazz fusion, Grime, Hip-Hop, Rock… just anything as long as there is music.

What is the funniest film ever made?

Cool Runnings

Do you have a favourite quote?

“If you’re not good, you’re bad. If you’re bad, you’re not good… Might as well be good” George Rivas.  That’s right, I quoted myself.

Where is your favourite place in the world?

Niembru, Asturias, Spain. I spent a lot of time in northern Spain when I was younger as my Grandad (Mi Abuelo) is from there.
