The Beach House

The client had bought the site, overlooking the beautiful North Sands Beach in Salcombe, and wanted to replace the existing property with a modern oak home.

The low pitch of the roof would usually require a tie beam to come across to support the structure, but the client didn’t want this kind of solid feature interrupting the modern interior so the solution for this was to put in 3-way tie rods.

Using this feature allows for clean lines in this contemporary home and the steelwork on show is an interesting contrast to the green oak frame.
