Summer House in Devon
Location:
Devon
Architect:
Roderick James Architects LLP
Frame Design:
Carpenter Oak Ltd
Details:
A very pretty stone clad curved summer house overlooking the river. Extensive glazing on two sides and roof lighting fills the internal spaces with light while the primary frame and the curved sections of oak give a contemporary feel.
The glazing panels and doors are fitted to a faceted oak screen which follows the curve. Externally the overhanging tiled roof supported along the front with oak uprights on concrete piers gives covered entrances on three sides, with partial roof glazing to keep the internal light levels high.
