Gloucester Crematorium canopy
Location:
Gloucester
Lead Carpenter:
Alan Wood
Architect:
O'Brian and Price
Frame Design:
Paul Slemmings
Details:
This Canopy serves as the entrance to the memorial gardens at the Gloucester Crematorium and will be used for viewing flowers. Due to the fact that this frame is outside rather than being within a sealed building it is an excellent use of the durability of oak and the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. The parallelogram shape (designed to fit in with the available shape of the site) presented some interesting geometry for the carpenters. The small crane shown in the photographs known as a spider crane is very useful when the site does not allow room for a full size crane.
This video clip was created from the 3D modeling CAD software with which we design all of our frames
