Garage with apartment above in South Devon
Location:
South Devon
Architect:
Cameron Scott of Timber Design
Frame Design:
Carpenter Oak
Details:
This is a one and a half storey, three bay oak frame with garaging and storage below, and a comfortable one room apartment over. The softwood joists and rafters are concealed giving the apartment a cleaner more contemporary finish.
The design includes an external staircase and a balcony on the gable end, adding more space in the apartment. It also adds interest and a gives the whole a less 'garagey' feel.
