Agricultural barn in South Devon
Location:
South Devon
Lead Carpenter:
Don Rigby
Architect:
Stuart Kittelty, Harrison Sutton Partnership
Frame Design:
Paul Slemmings
Details:
A new oak framed aisled barn in South Devon. This project used a mixture of green oak and stainless steel as can be seen in the photographs. A number of the joints were too highly stressed to use traditional carpentry joints so used stainless steel plates secured with steel dowels the ends of which were left proud of the timber for effect.
